I administer the plan for the 12,000 active and retired members of ATU Local 689 (bus and train operators) for the Washington DC METRO system. I report to a Board consisting of members of management and the union. I experience on a daily basis how inadequate our health care "system" is. I am a member of the Steering Committee of the Labor Campaign for Single Payer and also on the Board of Directors of the United Health Care Action Network (UHCAN).
